yoga & make-a-wish

This weekend was a tad quieter than last but definitely still great.
{Yin Yoga on Friday night with Lindsay Bear, followed by junk food & a movie}

On Saturday Lindsay and I went to the Volunteer Fair that one of our malls was hosting. We learned quite a bit and signed up to volunteer with a few Organizations. One being the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which serves for children with life-threatening medical conditions. I am SO excited to be a part of this & can't wait to be called for an event to make a difference in the little eyes and hearts of these beautiful children.
{A Wish Wand we received to give to a little girl}

Yesterday's Daily Devotional really spoke to me because it was very fitting with my drive to becoming more involved in volunteer work. Proverbs 31 speaks about being a "Wife of Noble Character." God is truly speaking to my heart, especially this past weekend, and He is teaching me more & more about how to be a wonderful Woman of God.

"She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy."
Proverbs 31:20

Wow, good for you. Make-A-Wish is an awesome organization. I'm going to start volunteering with the Aiken county humane society in June when I move to SC. I can't wait.

Love that little wand! We've (sadly) known several children that have benefited from MAW. Such an awesome organization. They go 100% all out on those wishes!

Missy, I am so proud of you. SO proud of you! That is a wonderful thing to be a part of. I remember the first time hearing about it as a child, it may have been on Opprah but I remember being little. From that moment I thought how amazing it is that we, us as individuals can help to fulfill a miracle. One doesn't have to wait for a miracle to come along, we can do that and make dreams come true. You are the perfect person to be apart of it. I adore you for that.

PS. I'm a terrible friend, I still haven't mailed your gift! That love letter I wrote you is becoming so outdated. I PROMISE to mail it soon. Hopefully Saturday I'll beable to make it to the post office. I'll put it on my phone as an alert to remind me :)

I LOVE YOU!

i was able to make-a-wish when i was 16 after having thyroid cancer, and it was truly a beautiful experience. i'm still so grateful for all of the awesome people that made my wish come true. it's so great that you are volunteering with them, and i hope to do the same sometime in the near future!
